Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state has announced plans to establish a state-owned commercial airline aimed at creating jobs for locally trained pilots.The initiative, revealed during the 40th Executive Council Meeting, is expected to start operations within the next year.This move comes as part of efforts to support Kano indigenes who have completed professional pilot training.Yusuf assured members of the Kano State Pilot Association that the government will provide necessary backing for the project's success.He also praised the performance of pilots trained in Jordan under a previous administration's program.

The association's chairman, Naziru Ibrahim, commended Yusuf for facilitating license revalidation and urged further assistance in obtaining final certifications to operate flights both domestically and internationally.

This development highlights Kano's commitment to leveraging its human capital for economic growth while addressing skill retention challenges in the aviation sector.
