Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna shared her personal testimony during the eighth annual women’s conference organised by Phaneroo Ministries International in Naguru, Uganda. The event, inspired by 1 Peter 3:4, focuses on helping women discover their identity in Christ and fulfil their purpose in society and ministry.
During her address, Kathy spoke about her journey before meeting her late husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, and encouraged women not to allow their past mistakes to define their future.Kathy explained that she became a mother at the age of 21 after having a child out of wedlock.A year later, she committed her life to Christianity. When she was 25 years old, she met Allan Kiuna and was upfront with him from their very first meeting, informing him that she already had a daughter.
According to Kathy, Allan immediately expressed interest in meeting the child, but she preferred that he first get to know her and clarify his intentions before becoming involved in her daughter’s life. She recalled that after demonstrating genuine commitment and seriousness about their relationship, Allan was eventually introduced to her daughter.Their relationship progressed quickly, and the two got married in less than a year after meeting.Kathy used the story to highlight Allan’s intentional approach to building a family and accepting both her and her child.
She concluded by encouraging women to embrace God’s calling regardless of their personal history, saying that past experiences should not disqualify anyone from serving God or pursuing their purpose. Her message centred on faith, redemption, acceptance, and the possibility of new beginnings.
