AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has addressed recent confusion over the status of his former Private Secretary, Arnold Nododile.Despite last week’s announcement by Traditional Prime Minister Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi that Nododile had been dismissed, the king confirmed at a recent gathering with princes that Nododile remains active in royal affairs, performing other duties within the royal family.

Nododile continues to work from Mashobeni palace and participates in high-level meetings, including engagements with KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli, who was advised to maintain communication with him regarding the king’s activities.

The conflicting statements by Buthelezi, which included the removal of Royal Chancellor inkosi Malusi Zondi, were clarified by the king and the royal spokesperson, Prince Thulani, who also announced restructuring of certain royal offices.New roles have been assigned to Zondi and Vice Chancellor Prince Africa Zulu, though exact details remain unspecified.

Sources indicate both will act as the king’s representatives in urban KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, liaising with hostel leaders, government agencies, and private businesses from Embelebeni royal palace.

Observers suggest that these changes reflect ongoing internal power dynamics within the Prime Minister Executive Council, particularly around access to the king’s diary, previously managed by Nododile.
