Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi disclosed that more than 1,300 kilograms of explosives were deployed in a recent attack on a Tank checkpost, resulting in the martyrdom of 15 individuals, including 14 security personnel.

During a press briefing in Dera Ismail Khan, Kundi emphasized the sophistication of the terrorist threat, urging a unified national response to combat extremism.

He highlighted the role of India in exploiting Afghan territory through terrorist groups to destabilize Pakistan, while also noting the use of abandoned weapons from Afghanistan in attacks within KP.

The governor commended the resilience of both security forces and the public, pledging continued support for the families of martyrs and injured personnel.He called for enhanced intelligence operations and closer coordination between Islamabad and Peshawar to ensure lasting peace in the province.

The attack, which damaged infrastructure and foiled a terrorist attempt, underscores ongoing security challenges in KP, with recent assessments indicating a decline in Pakistan's overall security situation due to escalating violence in the region.
