House bill seeks free autism therapy, monthly allowance, and expanded support services for Filipino families
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.has dismissed circulating rumours about the alleged removal or sacking of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, clarifying that there is no basis for the claims.
Speaking on the issue, Marcos suggested that the speculation may have been driven by individuals who are interested in occupying Remulla’s position in the Cabinet. The President’s statement aimed to put an end to the rumours that had been spreading in political circles and online discussions.
According to Marcos, such narratives are often fueled by political manoeuvring rather than factual developments, especially in relation to key government posts.
The clarification comes amid ongoing public attention to possible changes within the Marcos Cabinet, where various officials are occasionally subject to speculation regarding reassignment or replacement.
However, Marcos stressed that there has been no official decision to remove Remulla from his post as Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).The statement reinforces the administration’s position that Cabinet stability remains in place unless formally announced.
Jonvic Remulla, who currently heads the DILG, has not issued any public confirmation of resignation or dismissal, and the Palace has not released any official memorandum supporting the rumoured change.
The issue highlights how quickly unverified reports can spread in political environments, prompting the need for official clarification from the highest level of government.Marcos’ remarks effectively deny the speculation and underscore that Cabinet positions remain under his authority and discretion as President.
