A new TIFA survey has revealed that 44% of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) supporters prefer Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as their preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, while President William Ruto, who leads the rival United Democratic Alliance (UDA), secures 20% support.The poll, conducted across all 47 counties, interviewed 2,048 Kenyan adults aged 18 and above.Sifuna's 44% leads significantly over Ruto's 20%, despite Ruto's position as head of an opposing party.Other candidates like Fred Matiang'i (9%) and Babu Owino (4%) also received support.

The survey also highlights party cohesion, with UDA supporters remaining largely behind Ruto (84%), while Jubilee supporters overwhelmingly back Matiang'i (73%).TIFA notes that political developments post-survey could shift public sentiment, but the results offer a snapshot of current voter preferences.The findings underscore the fragmented nature of political support ahead of the 2027 elections.
