The Office of the Ombudsman has filed 14 graft charges against USWAG Ilonggo party-list Rep.James Ang Jr.for alleged irregularities in flood control projects, while former Rep.Arnulfo Go and three others face two graft and two malversation charges.

Ang was previously flagged by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) for possible plunder and bribery in infrastructure projects from 2016 to 2024.ICI chairperson Andres Reyes Jr.labeled Ang as a 'cong-tractor'—a term for lawmakers with construction firms securing DPWH contracts.Ang defended himself, stating his conscience is clear and he is ready to face the charges.

The Ombudsman's actions highlight ongoing investigations into corruption in public infrastructure projects, emphasizing the need for accountability in flood control initiatives critical for disaster management.
