The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko Students’ Union (AAUASU) has called on the Ondo State Government to urgently intervene in the ongoing ASUU-AAUA strike, which has lasted 14 days and brought academic activities to a standstill.

The union, led by President Folagbade Greatness, said the prolonged industrial action disrupted the university’s academic calendar, leaving thousands of students frustrated, uncertain about their future, and facing emotional, psychological, and financial hardship.Many students have been forced to leave campus due to the indefinite nature of the strike, while those remaining endure difficult conditions.

The Students’ Union described the situation as unacceptable, stressing that the shutdown delays graduations, disrupts academic plans, and adds financial burdens on parents.They urged the Ondo State Government, led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to engage with ASUU-AAUA leadership for dialogue.

The union issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the state government to provide a clear response or face mobilizing students for lawful protests to protect their educational rights.While insisting the ultimatum is not a threat, they emphasized it’s a sincere appeal driven by student hardship and uncertainty.
