Pakistani Youth Crosses LoC in Uri to Meet Local Woman, Detained by Army

In a surprising development in north Kashmir's Uri sector, the Indian Army apprehended a 22-year-old man from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC).

The intruder, identified as Zeeshan Ahmad Mir from Painkadi village in PoK's Muzaffarabad district, was caught late Saturday while entering through the Haji Peer range in Silikote area.

According to local sources and unverified social media footage, the incident appears to be linked to a love affair between Mir and a local woman, Iram Bano, from Tilawari village near the LoC.Police confirmed that the families on both sides of the border are related and that the couple maintained communication via social media.

The Army stated that the apprehension was handled with restraint, and Mir was handed over to Jammu & Kashmir Police for further legal proceedings. The case has drawn attention online, with a video showing the couple responding to questions from an unidentified person circulating on social media. The incident highlights both the human element in cross-border movements and the sensitive security environment in the Uri sector.
