On May 30, 2026, petrol and diesel prices across India remained largely unchanged after a series of recent hikes.According to the latest update, fuel rates stayed steady following the last increase on May 25, which marked the fourth consecutive hike within the month.During that revision, petrol prices were raised by ₹2.61 per litre and diesel by ₹2.71 per litre, as state-owned oil marketing companies passed on rising international crude oil costs to consumers.On May 30, fuel prices in major cities showed minor variation but no fresh revision.In Delhi, petrol was priced at ₹102.12 per litre and diesel at ₹95.20.Mumbai recorded higher rates with petrol at ₹111.21 and diesel at ₹97.83.Chennai’s petrol price stood at ₹108.01 and diesel at ₹99.78, while Kolkata reported ₹113.51 for petrol and ₹99.82 for diesel.Hyderabad continued to have some of the highest rates, with petrol at ₹115.73 and diesel at ₹103.82.Other cities such as Patna, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Jaipur also reflected stable pricing trends without any new adjustments.

The report highlights that global crude oil volatility, driven by geopolitical tensions in West Asia, particularly the US-Iran conflict and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, continues to influence domestic fuel pricing.Industry experts suggest that oil marketing companies are still recovering both current losses and past under-recoveries.
