The All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association (APPPOA) has declared a nationwide strike starting Wednesday night following failed negotiations with the government over daily fuel pricing.Petrol pump owners argue that the daily pricing mechanism is unworkable and has caused severe financial challenges.They demand monthly pricing adjustments and an increase in dealer commissions, which have been frozen for three years.

Chairman Humayun Khan criticized the government for excluding private businesses from policymaking and highlighted how the daily pricing system favors oil marketing companies.The strike will affect around 15,000 petrol pumps across Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) is considering a strike after discussions with Ogra, with the petroleum minister urging them to engage with regulatory authorities.

The government defended the daily pricing shift as a move to enhance transparency and reflect international price movements, but dealers remain unconvinced, citing ongoing financial pressures and lack of stakeholder consultation.
