The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied any recognition or engagement with the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), revealing that security checks confirmed the council's alleged Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi, was unknown to the Federal Government.

Permanent Secretary Dunoma Ahmed stated the ministry rejected three requests from Adeyemi for support to host a World Investment Summit, citing document inconsistencies and doubts about the council's legitimacy.

The ministry also clarified it never participated in any bilateral/multilateral engagements involving PFIPC, nor facilitated foreign investors on the council's behalf.No MOUs, treaties, or investment agreements were executed through PFIPC, and Nigerian missions abroad had no dealings with the council.

The House Ad-Hoc Committee probing PFIPC expressed concern over delayed action after the National Security Adviser confirmed the council's non-existence in November 2025.

The committee has summoned the NSA to explain steps taken post-discovery and demands the Foreign Affairs Minister appear to address the ministry's submissions.The NSA's office reportedly confirmed PFIPC's illegality, but no further action was taken, prompting calls for accountability.
