Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, don call for quick and full resolution of the gas leakage wey happen for Bille community inside Degema Local Government Area of the state.

The governor also promise say government go upgrade the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) for Bille to help tackle the health challenges wey the environmental issue don cause for the people.

The meeting on the matter hold for Government House, Port Harcourt, where stakeholders from Federal Government, state officials, industry operators, and community leaders gather come discuss how to solve the problem permanently.

Governor Fubara talk say government don already visit the affected area together with petroleum ministry officials and industry operators, and dem dey work to identify the real cause of the leakage and the best long-term solution.

He explain say the outcome of the meeting go lead to more action within the next few weeks to ensure full resolution and protection of lives and environment.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, represent Federal Government, talk say investigation still dey ongoing and experts don already dey work to understand the root cause of the gas seepage.

He add say collaboration between government and the community important to achieve lasting solution, especially since initial findings no quickly show clear source of the problem.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) also pledge support and promise to provide relief materials like potable water and fire trucks to reduce the impact on the affected people.Community leaders for Bille present their concerns during the meeting and appeal for urgent government intervention to protect lives and livelihoods.
