ADC Criticizes APC for Ignoring Poverty and Focusing on 2027 Election
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) National Chairman, Professor Sadiq Gombe, has publicly demanded that Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, resign immediately due to allegations of misconduct linked to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
During a press briefing in Abuja following the party's National Executive Committee meeting, Gombe emphasized that Gbajabiamila's position as a key figure in the presidency makes his resignation necessary for a thorough investigation.
He argued that public officials accused of serious constitutional violations cannot remain in their roles, urging Gbajabiamila to step aside to allow an independent probe.
Gombe also criticized the composition of the PFIPC committee, highlighting the lack of diversity among its members and warning that such imbalances could undermine Nigeria's democratic processes ahead of upcoming elections.
The SDP State Chairmen, including Lagos governorship candidate Femi Olaniyi, echoed these concerns, accusing the current administration of losing control and failing to address systemic issues.
The article underscores growing tensions within Nigeria's political landscape, with calls for accountability and reform as the nation prepares for critical electoral events.
