South African football prospect Shandre Campbell has signed with newly promoted Belgian club KV Kortrijk, marking a significant step in his career.The 21-year-old winger, who previously played for Club Brugge, has joined Kortrijk on a four-year deal.

Sporting director Nils Vanneste praised Campbell's creativity, speed, and depth, noting his experience in the Belgian First Division despite his young age.

Campbell, who moved to Belgium from SuperSport United in 2024, struggled to secure a starting spot at Brugge, appearing off the bench in 18 games and scoring two goals.However, he excelled in Brugge's reserve team, netting 11 goals in 25 games with three assists.His potential was recognized during the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Morocco, though he wasn't selected by coach Hugo Broos.

Campbell now aims to establish himself in Kortrijk's starting lineup and regain his place in the Bafana Bafana squad for upcoming Afcon qualifiers.The transfer follows in the footsteps of South African legends like Darren Keet and Cassius Mailula, who also played for Kortrijk.This move highlights Campbell's ambition to elevate his career in Belgium's top flight.
