President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Mozambique's President Daniel Francisco Chapo urged African nations to accelerate the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to achieve economic liberation.

Speaking at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), Chapo emphasized the need for infrastructure development, digital connectivity, and regional logistics to make Africa's markets more competitive.He warned against exporting raw materials while importing finished goods, advocating instead for industrialization, innovation, and value addition.Tanzania and Mozambique were highlighted as key players in regional economic integration, leveraging their strategic locations and resources.

Samia reiterated the importance of historical ties between the two countries to drive economic cooperation, stressing that their collaboration should focus on production, trade, and industrialization.The event showcased Tanzania's growing role in international trade, with significant exports in gold, agriculture, and manufacturing.

The DITF's 50th anniversary highlighted its evolution into a major platform for African trade and investment, with expectations of boosting exports and creating jobs through initiatives like 'Made in Tanzania.'
