According to the Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) Operations Manager Johnson John, the team has been well prepared and is motivated to perform strongly and represent the country with pride.
He noted that participation in such regional tournaments is important for exposing Tanzanian golfers to international standards and improving their competitive experience.
The championship will follow a 54-hole stroke play format played over three rounds, with four players representing each country and the best three scores counting towards the team standings each day.In addition to team results, individual performances will also be recognised.
The official schedule shows that teams will arrive in Mauritius on June 2, followed by a practice round, managers’ meeting, and opening ceremony on June 3.
Competitive rounds will run from June 4 to June 6, and the event will conclude with a prize-giving gala dinner on June 6, with departures set for June 7.
Kenya and Mauritius are seen as strong contenders, but Tanzania is aiming to make a solid impact and continue building its presence in international golf competitions through such regional engagements.
