The University of Johannesburg (UJ) Choir is set to showcase its world-class choral talent with a farewell concert on August 15 at the Keorapetse William Kgositsile Theatre, ahead of representing South Africa and Africa at the prestigious World Symposium on Choral Music 2026 in Macau.

Selected from over 300 global choirs, UJ Choir is one of only 13 ensembles invited to perform at the symposium, making it the sole African representative.

The concert will feature original compositions by South African musicians, celebrating the continent's musical heritage while aligning with the symposium's theme of 'Reimagining the Future'.

This event marks a significant cultural milestone, positioning African choral music on the global stage and highlighting UJ's commitment to innovation and artistic excellence.
