UP Open University releases July–December 2026 schedule for 25 free self-paced online courses

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has announced its Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) offerings for the period of July to December 2026, providing learners access to 25 free, self-paced online courses through its MODeL platform.

These courses are open to the public and are designed to allow participants to study at their own pace, making them accessible to a wide range of learners, including students, professionals, and individuals seeking additional skills or knowledge.Upon completion, learners may also receive a 16-hour e-certificate, which can be used to document participation and learning achievements.The course lineup includes both new and returning offerings across various fields.

New courses introduced this semester cover topics such as accounting basics and financial statements, academic writing in Filipino, grammar skills in Filipino, research ethics, parental acceptance and support, and externalizing disorders among children.These additions highlight UPOU’s focus on education, child development, language proficiency, and ethical research practices.

Other courses span strategic planning, marketing fundamentals, climate information services, permaculture principles, artificial intelligence essentials, quality assurance in open distance eLearning, learner support systems, and ICT integration in teaching.

There are also specialized courses addressing climate and disaster resilience, gender-based violence in schools, and program evaluation for child rights.The university noted that course schedules may still change without prior notice.Interested learners are encouraged to register via the UPOU MODeL platform once enrollment opens.

This initiative continues UPOU’s commitment to expanding access to flexible and inclusive education through online learning opportunities across the Philippines and beyond.
