Residents of Ugboju communities in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State fled their homes after a violent armed attack that left a 15-year-old boy dead, one person missing, and about 500 cattle stolen.

The attack, which occurred at around 7am on Monday in Olahimu village, targeted the family of late Ardo Risku Muhammad, whose relatives were previously attacked weeks ago.

The victim's brother, Muhammad Isiyaku, was shot dead during the assault, while four others initially reported missing were later accounted for, except labourer Saidu Musa.Security forces and local youths were mobilized after a distress call, but the attackers had already fled with the cattle.

Council chairman Maxwell Ogiri expressed concern over rising attacks in the area, citing recent cattle rustling in Jericho village and raids on neighboring communities.The family urged authorities to intensify efforts to recover missing persons, retrieve stolen cattle, and bolster security.Police confirmed receiving reports but have not yet shared details.The incident highlights ongoing insecurity in the region, forcing residents to flee for safety.
