Oyo APC Leaders Officially Present Sharafadeen Alli and Senatorial Candidates to President Tinubu
Fresh reports from within the APC don show why Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, allegedly lost support from President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party leadership.
According to party insiders who spoke with Punch, the main issue be say Fubara allegedly failed to keep to reconciliation agreements reached during efforts to settle the political crisis between am and former Rivers governor, Nyesom Wike.
One APC National Working Committee member claimed say Tinubu had earlier intervened to stop impeachment moves against Fubara and advised am to focus on governance while leaving party structure and politics to Wike.
The source also alleged say part of the peace agreement was that Fubara no go seek second-term re-election, and that Wike repeatedly referred to this understanding with the statement, “Agreement is agreement.
” The report further stated that after Fubara joined APC, the party leadership refused to organise any official welcome because Wike allegedly did not approve of the move.
Party insiders also claimed say Wike still controls the APC political structure in Rivers State, including the selection and screening of aspirants for legislative positions.
Another APC chieftain in Abuja alleged that Fubara was not cleared by the party’s governorship screening committee and was effectively disqualified from contesting under APC.According to the source, Fubara’s withdrawal from the race was only to save face after the screening outcome became clear.Allies of Wike also insisted that the party was only respecting the earlier political agreement and not targeting Fubara unfairly.The claims in the report remain allegations from unnamed APC sources, and no official response from Fubara was included in the article.
