Azam FC U20 have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 NBC U20 Youth League after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Young Africans SC (Yanga) U20 in the final played at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The match showed strong competition between two of Tanzania’s top youth football sides, with Azam FC U20 managing to edge their rivals and lift the trophy at the end of the season.
In the third-place playoff, Mbeya City FC U20 secured third position after defeating JKT Tanzania U20 4-2 in a penalty shootout following a draw in normal time, highlighting the closely contested nature of the tournament.
The trophy presentation ceremony was led by NBC’s Head of Entrepreneurs, Youth and Women Banking, Gaudence Shawa, representing the Managing Director of the National Bank of Commerce.
The event was attended by key stakeholders in Tanzanian football including officials from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), regional football authorities, and the national team coaching staff.
NBC reiterated its strong commitment to developing youth football, stating that the U20 Youth League is a key investment in building the future of Tanzanian football.
