Afrobeats superstar Davido has publicly cleared the air about his relationship with Seyi Tinubu after online criticism followed his recent comments on Nigeria’s insecurity and injustice issues.

The singer had taken to X (formerly Twitter) to express frustration about the state of the country, admitting that entertainers, including himself, have not spoken enough about the challenges affecting citizens.

He explained that while he has known Seyi Tinubu for several years, their relationship is purely friendship-based and does not influence his public opinions.According to him, he even speaks directly to Seyi Tinubu at times to express concerns about national issues.

He also reminded critics that he has previously spoken out about Nigeria’s problems in international interviews, which also attracted backlash from some Nigerians.

Davido maintained that his intention has always been to highlight injustice and encourage more responsibility from public figures, especially entertainers.
