Lady Fubara Urges Inclusive Policies to Support All Children in Rivers State
Eat Right Society (ERS), one non-governmental organisation wey focus on children wellbeing, celebrate im 10th anniversary with meaningful activities for Abuja community.
The event happen for LEA Primary School, Alugu-Lungu, Gwarinpa II, where dem officially hand over one block of four new classrooms wey dem build together with Build-A-School Initiative Africa (BASIA).This project aim to improve learning environment and reduce pressure on existing school facilities.According to ERS Executive Director, Dr.
Funmilayo Morebise, the organisation don spend the last 10 years dey invest in children through health education, nutrition programmes, mentorship, and community support.
She explain say their Children’s Day Special programme, wey start for 2015, don help produce scholars, improve community health, and attract support from partners.As part of the anniversary activities, ERS organise spelling bee competition to encourage academic excellence and confidence among pupils.Winners go join the Scholars Empowerment Programme, where dem go receive mentorship and educational support.The organisation also carry out deworming exercise to improve children health, as dem believe say healthy children fit perform better for school.
Another highlight na the launch of their book titled “Eat Right Society @10: Legacy of a Giant Stride,” wey document the organisation journey and impact over the years.Dr.Morebise describe the new classrooms as symbol of hope and better future for the children.BASIA representative, Dr.Victor Ukorebi, talk say quality education depend on safe learning spaces, and the partnership show commitment to children development.
School authorities and community leaders also thank ERS and BASIA, and call on more support from government and private sector to improve education and child welfare for underserved communities.
