Gunmen attack NIPSS Kuru again, one assailant killed as security repel attack
A new financing programme has been launched in Nigeria to help primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions acquire 13-seater and 18-seater buses without making any initial down payment. The scheme is a partnership between Elizade JAC Motors and Lotus Bank and is designed to make school transportation more accessible and affordable.
Under this arrangement, schools can obtain vehicles immediately while spreading the cost over time through flexible repayment structures that can be aligned with monthly income cycles or academic term payments.
According to the company, the initiative is aimed at solving a major challenge faced by many educational institutions, which is the high upfront cost of purchasing reliable transport vehicles. The JAC Sunray bus has been highlighted as a preferred option due to its durability, comfort, and suitability for Nigerian road conditions. It comes in both 13-seater and 18-seater versions, allowing schools of different sizes to choose what fits their needs.Stakeholders involved in the project explained that extensive engagement with school owners helped shape the financing model. They noted that the goal is to ease pressure on school working capital while still enabling fleet expansion or upgrades.
Representatives from Elizade JAC Motors also stressed their commitment to improving mobility solutions for institutions that contribute to national development.
The partnership is expected to support better student transportation, reduce logistical stress for schools, and promote safer, more reliable travel arrangements across educational institutions in the country.
