Quetta hospital staff member awarded for saving doctor during acid attack
The Islamabad Capital Territory administration has once again imposed early closing timings for commercial activities in the capital.According to a late-night notification issued by the district magistrate, all shops, general markets, and shopping malls in Islamabad will now be required to shut down by 8pm every day of the week. The decision reflects a renewed enforcement of restrictions on business hours in the city.In addition to retail outlets, the notification also sets specific closing times for other sectors.Restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores, bakeries, as well as meat, fruit, and vegetable vendors have been directed to close by 10pm.The same 10pm deadline also applies to marriage halls, marquees, and all other venues used for festive or commercial events.Importantly, the restriction extends even to events hosted on private premises, meaning such gatherings must also conclude by the stipulated time. The district administration stated that these revised timings will take effect immediately from Monday and will remain in place until further notice. The move is part of administrative efforts to regulate business operations in the federal capital through time-bound restrictions. No end date has been provided, leaving the policy open-ended until the authorities issue a new directive.
The notification has effectively reinstated an earlier pattern of early closures, impacting both commercial activity and social events across Islamabad.
