In Quetta, a brave act of humanity has been recognised after a female doctor, Dr Mahnoor Nisar, was attacked with acid at Civil Hospital.The incident occurred on Saturday, and the doctor was initially treated at a private hospital in Quetta before being shifted to Karachi for specialised care.
Dr Nisar sustained burns on 13% of her body, affecting her face, abdomen, legs, and right hand, with her eyes also exposed to acid, though her eyesight remains intact.The suspect behind the attack was killed in a police encounter.Abdul Razzaq Tarakai, a hospital staff member, rushed to Dr Nisar’s aid during the attack, suffering burn injuries himself.Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti praised Tarakai for his courage and humanitarian spirit, calling him a 'precious asset to society.
' The CM announced a civil award for Tarakai and assured full coverage of his treatment expenses, including the option for top medical facilities if needed.
The government highlighted the importance of recognising those who selflessly serve humanity and protect lives, reinforcing their commitment to honour such bravery.
