Senior government official Moses Kuria has dismissed allegations by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua that he planned violence during a rally in Ol Kalou.In a statement, Kuria called the accusations baseless, emphasizing that Gachagua had made similar claims without evidence.

He reiterated his political disagreements with Gachagua, dating back to 2020 and 2021, when he advised against joining a coalition without a regional party.Kuria likened the move to weak bargaining power, comparing it to attending dowry negotiations in the groom's vehicle.

He also criticized Gachagua's Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) strategy of fielding candidates across Mt Kenya, predicting it would 'end in tears.

' Despite the sharp criticism, Kuria urged Gachagua to stop dragging his name into disputes, saying he would observe the political developments over the next year.The rivalry between the two leaders continues to influence Mt Kenya politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
