NAB transfers recovered assets worth Rs4.1 billion to Rawalpindi Development Authority in embezzlement case

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Islamabad has formally handed over recovered assets worth over Rs4.1 billion to the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in a major embezzlement case involving misappropriation of departmental funds.

According to details shared by officials, a formal ceremony was held at NAB Islamabad where recovered proceeds of crime, including Call Deposit Receipts (CDRs) and immovable properties, were transferred to RDA representatives.The case revolves around the alleged embezzlement of RDA funds through the issuance of 321 CDRs.During the investigation, NAB managed to recover approximately Rs1.75 billion through plea bargains, settlements, and direct recoveries from the accused.In addition, 31 immovable properties valued at around Rs2.3 billion were frozen, and a receiver was appointed to manage these assets pending further legal proceedings.

Officials stated that the recovery process was carried out under the close supervision of the NAB Director General, who appreciated the investigation team’s performance and reiterated that recovering public money remains a top priority for the bureau.

The case is expected to proceed further as a reference against the accused individuals will soon be filed before the accountability court in Rawalpindi.Authorities also confirmed that efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining outstanding amount linked to the corruption case.

The development highlights continued anti-corruption enforcement actions aimed at ensuring accountability and restitution of public funds in Pakistan.
