Pakistan rejects India’s claims over cross-border strikes, calls statement baseless and misleading
In Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three people, including a five-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, lost their lives while ten others were injured in what police suspect was a drone-based attack involving a quadcopter dropping an explosive device on a residential house. The incident took place late Wednesday near the Dama Dola area of War Mamund tehsil.According to police sources, all the victims belonged to the same family, making the tragedy particularly devastating for the local community. The injured and deceased were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar for medical treatment and post-incident procedures.
Law enforcement officials reached the site soon after the incident to collect evidence and begin a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Mamund Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police Saidur Rehman confirmed the casualties and stated that authorities have initiated a formal inquiry to identify the perpetrators and determine the exact nature of the drone involvement.
This is not the first such incident reported in the region; Bajaur has witnessed multiple suspected drone-related attacks in recent months, raising serious concerns about security and civilian safety.
In an earlier incident on Sunday, a child was killed and a woman injured under similar circumstances, while another attack on May 21 reportedly killed two schoolchildren in a hilly area of the district.
The recurring nature of these incidents has intensified fear among residents and highlighted the need for improved surveillance, accountability, and preventive security measures in the region.
